ROUNDUP: Morris third at Fall Classic

KANKAKEE — Behind the All-Tournament play of setter Katie Chatten, the Morris varsity girls volleyball team took third place at the Bishop McNamara Fall Classic over the weekend.

Morris defeated Lake Forest Academy 25-19, 25-16 behind 6 kills from Kendall Korte, 5 from JoAnna Nowicki and 16 assists from Chatten. It also won its second pool play match, 25-14, 25-9 over Wilmington, as Korte, Austin Thompson, Laney Torkelson and Taylor Vandenberg had 5 kills each and Chatten had 25 assists. Bradley-Bourbonnais defeated the Redskins 25-13, 17-25, 15-8 in their final pool-play match, though Korte and Nowicki had 7 kills each and Chatten totaled 28 assists.
