A Minooka man accused of dozens of charges in a deer poaching case was indicted on eight counts by a Grundy County Circuit Court grand jury on Oct. 3.

According to court records, Christopher G. Kiernan, 46, was indicted on charges stemming from alleged illegal hunting of a protected species between November 2009 and May 2011 while on the property of Material Service Corporation, located at 3450 W. Southmor Road.

According to prior reports, Kiernan was one of three men charged in November 2011, following an 11-month deer poaching investigation including multiple states and Canada. More than 40 charges were initially filed against him, related to allegations that he unlawfully took a total of 24 deer in Illinois and Canada over a 10-year period.
