It really isn't just about the bride.

Text Size: AaAaAaAaAa

As much as we like to think it is, the wedding day is not just about the bride.

Although most of the attention is on her, the husband is a key part. Obviously, without him asking you to be his wife in the first place you would never get the chance to be the bride.

It's easy to forget about the husband in all the planning. Let's be honest, it's not like he's that involved.

My husband wanted nothing to do with designing centerpieces or picking out flowers so I got pretty use to running things with my mother and bridesmaids.

I literally had to add to my wedding to do list "something for Paul." Unless you have something distinct that you as a couple share and that is known by your friends and family, it can be difficult to make sure your wedding reflects you both. Some couples share one love for something, such as a sports team they can use as their wedding colors, or a hobby they can intertwine into wedding decorations.

But Paul and I don't have one thing like that so I tried to do little things to reflect us both. At our first reception I framed pictures of couples on both sides of our families and at our second reception we had a slideshow sharing pictures of us as children and as a couple.

We took both engagement and wedding photos with his beloved 1981 Trans Am and Paul took all the photos himself of the Door County locations we used as our table assignment names.

But my favorite "Paul thing" was a surprise I had my dad help me with. I rented a 2012 Camaro Convertible for him at our Wisconsin wedding. My dad drove it up and we hid it from Paul for two days until the morning of our wedding when my dad dropped it off to him with a note from me.

The first line of my note explained it was a rental so he wouldn't get his hopes up and he loved it. And although he doesn't admit it now, my dad says he was teary-eyed when he gave him the keys.

I'm in favor of anything that will help improve school finances
I will support it if it helps to lower my property taxes
I oppose it because I don't believe it will impact property taxes and I will just pay twice
I'm against any additional taxes
I have not heard enough yet to form an opinion
