Minooka's Chobar qualifies for state final tournament in golf

PEKIN — Minooka junior Jason Chobar qualified for the Class 3A Boys Golf State Final Tournament Monday as an individual based on his score at the Pekin Sectional, held at Lick Creek Golf Course.

Chobar carded a 78 and was one of 10 individuals, along with three teams, to qualify at the sectional. The highest score with which individuals advanced was a 79.

The state final tournament is Friday and Saturday at Prairie Vista Golf Course in Bloomington.
