(MCT) — Chicago police arrested a man who took a Cicero ambulance for a joyride around the Southwest Side, authorities said today.

Englewood District officers curbed the ambulance in the 1500 block of West 63rd Street just before midnight Tuesday, said Officer Hector Alfaro, a police spokesman.

The ambulance had been reported stolen from the grounds of MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn earlier in the evening, more than 10 miles from where the ambulance was eventually stopped, authorities said.

The officers took the man into custody without incident, Alfaro said.

A representative for Cicero wasn't available for comment this morning.
