Grundy County deputies arrested a Chicago man Friday, Oct. 5 after finding controlled substances in his vehicle.

According to Grundy County Sheriff’s Department records, at about 1:10 a.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop on N. Interstate 55 near mile marker 233 in Braceville for a vehicle seen crossing the fog line. In interacting with the driver, identified as William J. Bonner, 26, the deputy requested and was granted permission to search the vehicle and allegedly found plastic bags filled with an unnamed white crystal-like powder in the glove box and truck.
