Circumstances make festival extra enjoyable

To the Editor:

This year’s 2012 Grundy County Corn Festival was the best that I have spent in the past five years.

I have had two diabetic comas and in the second one  my count, at 34, was so low that the hospital said I should have been dead on arrival.

I really enjoyed riding up and down Liberty Street this year and I enjoyed eating corn on the cob, a corn dog, and a pork tenderloin sandwich, had a good lunch at the Shorewood Oaks Restaurant, and a vanilla smoothie at Wendy’s.

I am so thankful for my wonderful and thoughtful husband, Tim. Without him I wouldn’t be here today. He helps with the housework, fixing meals, and doing our laundry.

He is a very good and loving husband, dad, grandpa and great-grandpa, and he loves gardening.

In closing, I am going to say that I really enjoyed this years Corn Festival. All remember “Footprints in the Sand.”
