Lady Barbs get retribution by beating Morris
The Northern Illinois Big 12 East is an absolute grind on a nightly basis. Thursday was Senior Night for the Morris Redskins volleyball team and it saw the them take on one of the conference’s powers when they hosted the DeKalb Barbs. In another tough matchup, DeKalb was able to improve to 27-8 on the season (6-4 in conference) with a 25-15, 25-17 sweep of the Redskins.
DeKalb came out with retribution in mind early — especially after the Barbs lost their only conference match to the Redskins in Morris a season ago, and they jumped all over the ‘Skins in the early going.
“I think the returning players were pretty amped up to come in here,” DeKalb coach Ben Fisher said. “I think that they wanted to come in and play well. Unfortunately, we haven’t played well lately, and we need to be playing well going into regionals. So, our goal tonight was just to come out here and play good volleyball.”
