Casino’s push to fight cancer adds to the pot
Additional efforts lead to big donation
JOLIET, Ill. — The American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Joliet has raised more than $82,000 between their Oct. 7, 2012, walk at the Chicagoland Speedway and other supporting donations. And with Hollywood Casino Joliet’s partnership, they now have additional funds that will go towards finding a cure and saving lives.
Throughout the month of October, Hollywood Casino Joliet has been helping to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research. The property has been blanketed with supporting videos and signs; they placed ad in local papers regarding their push to raise funds and their building was even illuminated in pink lights in honor of the push. Though this and three different donation possibilities (an employee engagement program, a monetary donation from the property and via a guest donation collection box) Hollywood Casino Joliet raised an additional $12,010.83 to help support the fight against cancer.
