Man found dead in Des Plaines may have been victim of hit-and-run accident

(MCT) — A 53-year-old Park Ridge man was found dead this evening near a Cook County forest preserve after being being struck by a hit and run driver in Des Plaines, officials said.

Ronald Bougan of the 00 to 100 block of North Northwest Highway was found at about 5:21 p.m. with trauma consistant with being struck by a vehicle, said Frank Bilecki, a spokesman for the Cook County Sheriff's Office.

Bougan was found on the east bound lanes of Touhy Avenue at the entrance to Iroquois Woods on Forest Preserve property, Bilecki said.

Bougan's family told investigators that Bougan had last spoken with his family was Monday morning before noon, said Bilecki.

His family told police that the man would often walk or ride his bicycle, said Bilecki. A bicycle was not found near his body.
