Research has helped me dig up some cool football facts
So, I noticed in the last week or so that most of the subjects I have interviewed on the Morris football team are looking kind of scruffy. This coming last week after I used the video camera here at the Herald to do simple audio interviews with various members of the Redskins team for the T-formation story. My tape recorded had just failed me a couple of days earlier, which is why I was using the video camera.
Since I wasn't using the footage for a MDH video, I aimed the microphone up at each of the kids and then played it back in I-Movie to write the comments down. Somewhere about the third interview, I noticed that each of the kids I interviewed had Five-O'Clock Shadow or even more. Eventually, I realized that it was more than just a coincidence so this week I asked Morris coach Alan Thorson what it was all about.
"Every year the kids do something different. I've been here eight years now and when I first started it was moustaches and then the team went bleach blonde," Thorson said. "This year I don't know if it's because of the hockey lockout or what, but the kids decided to do no shaving and they ended up talking the coaching staff into it, too.
