CHANNAHON — At the Village of Channahon’s board meeting, Aux Sable Liquid Products President and CEO Bill McAdam presented the Channahon Police Department with a 2012 Polaris Ranger to be used to patrol the many miles of bike paths in Channahon and to respond to crime scenes that are off road or otherwise unreachable using a squad car.
“Aux Sable believes strongly in investing the communities in which we live and work, and supports and recognizes the commitment of the men and women of the Channahon Police Department,” McAdam said. “Our focus on safety, education, health and the environment provides the basis for our commitment to the communities in which we operate and our employees.”
Many of the Channahon Police Department members were present to receive this donation.
“On behalf of all of our department members, I would like to thank Mr. McAdam and all of the members of Aux Sable Liquid Products for the generous donation and for their commitment to public safety,” Wold said. “This Polaris Ranger will be an essential tool for patrolling bike paths, trails and responding to out of the way, off road emergency situations.”
Mayor Joe Cook thanked Aux Sable for their donatation and presented McAdam a certificate of appreciation.
Prior to the meeting, McAdam took Channahon Officer John Blough for a test drive, demonstrating the off road abilities of the Ranger. The Ranger is outfitted with emergency lights, police radio and all-weather equipment to allow for year round use.
The Aux Sable Liquid Products plant is located on the west side of Channahon.
It has been in operation for 11 years and employs approximately 150 people from the surrounding communities.
