BIZ BITS: Business After Hours is Thursday in Minooka

MINOOKA — The Grundy County Chamber of Commerce will host a Business After Hours event Thursday, Nov. 15 from 5-7 p.m. at Heartland Bank (formally Citizen’s), 500 Bob Blair Road, Minooka.

Heartland Banks and WCSJ Radio will announce the recipient of the “Heart of Our Community” award. Attendees can meet staff members, enjoy refreshments and find out how the winner of the award went above and beyond.

Santa to arrive at Peru Mall on Nov. 17

PERU — A dog and sleigh escort for the jolly old man himself, Santa Claus, and refreshments will kick off the holiday season beginning at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 17 at Peru Mall.

Santa will arrive in the shopping center’s Sears wing on a sleigh pulled by four white Siberian huskies, marking the 39th anniversary year of this tradition.

He’ll make his way to his winter wonderland set, located in center court, where children of all ages can sit on the jolly man’s knee and whisper gift wishes.

Youngsters visiting Santa during his arrival Saturday, Nov. 17 will receive cookies and hot chocolate while care givers can refresh with coffee or water, in center court. All children visiting Santa throughout the season will receive a floatable holiday toy.

While visiting Santa is free, state-of-the-art digital photography packages are available and parents can view photos immediately.

Santa will remain in residence at Peru Mall until Dec. 24.
