Investigators end 5-day search for Stacy Peterson's body
(MCT) SHOREWOOD, Ill. — Investigators from the Illinois State Police and FBI today ended a five-day search for Stacy Peterson in a Shorewood forest preserve without finding the missing Bolingbrook woman’s body, officials said.
The roughly 400-acre Hammel Woods Forest Preserve has been searched before, but a “couple dozen” investigators returned to the forest this week because specialized FBI resources such as search dogs became available, said Illinois State Police spokeswoman Monique Bond.
