Charges filed in fatal Dan Ryan collision

(MCT) — Charges have been filed against the Far South Side man who was driving a sport utility vehicle when he crashed into a pickup truck on the Dan Ryan Expressway early Saturday, killing the pickup's driver, police said.

Tyrone Allen Stokes, 42, of the 10200 block of South Carpenter Street, was charged with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, Illinois State Police spokeswoman Monique Bond said. The victim was identified as Phillip Briner, 21, of Crown Point, Ind., the Cook County medical examiner's office said.
