Grand jury returns indictments against 13

• Patrick S. Irwin, 38, of Streator, was indicted on a Sept. 25 charge of unlawful possession of cannabis, a Class 3 felony. Irwin allegedly possessed between 30 and 500 grams of a substance containing cannabis, the indictment said, and he also had one previous conviction in Grundy County.

Illinois State Police Trooper Ken Gurney testified.

• Mitchell T. Leake, 20, of Verona, was indicted on four Aug. 28 charges of aggravated leaving the scene of an accident involving personal injury. Two of the charges were listed as being a Class 2 felony, while two were listed as Class 4 felonies.

According to the indictment, on Aug. 28, Leake was involved in an accident in the 2400 block of Oakland Circle in Morris where he failed to stop and report the incident to law enforcement in a timely manner.

He was also indicted on an Aug. 28 charge of reckless driving, a Class A misdemeanor. According to the indictment, Leake allegedly drove with willful and wanton disregard for safety of persons or property.
Officer Paul Burke of the Morris Police Department officer testified.

• Rodney A. Kerr, 52, was indicted on Sept. 29 charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, a Class 2 felony, driving under the influence of alcohol, a Class 4 felony and Driving with a revoked license, a Class 4 felony.

According to the indictment, Kerr allegedly drove under the influence with at least two prior violations of DUI and while driving with a revoked license. He had at least one prior violation of driving with a revoked license, and his license was revoked for driving under the influence.

Deputy Darren Roach of the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department testified.

• Phillip O. Fox, 52, was indicted on an Oct. 10 charge of driving with a revoked license, a Class 4 felony. According to the indictment, he had at least four prior violations of the charge and his license was revoked for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Sgt. Sean Beeler of the Minooka Police Department testified.

• Eric A. Hale, 37, was indicted on an Oct. 19 charge of driving with a revoked license, a Class 4 felony.
According to the indictment, Hale had at least one prior violation and his license was revoked for driving under the influence of alcohol.
