DWIGHT, Ill. — Phyllis E. Doran, 84, of Dwight, Ill., passed away at 1:31 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Ill., with her loving family by her side.
 
Born Dec. 23, 1927, in Forrest, Ill., Phyllis was the daughter of Roy L. and Edith M. (Christoff) Wenger. She graduated from Forrest High School. In 1956, she married John F. Doran. He preceded her in death in 1959 at the age of 39.

When she was 17 years old, Phyllis worked with veteran's records for the federal government in Washington, D.C. She transferred to Hines Veteran's Administration Hospital and worked for the Dwight Veteran's Administration Hospital for more than six years.
