Louis Michael Girot

BRACEVILLE, Ill. — Mr. Louis Michael “Mike” Girot, 59, of Anchorage, Alaska, and formerly of Braceville, Ill., passed away Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012 in Anchorage.

Born Jan. 3, 1953, in Anchorage, Mike graduated with the Class of 1971 from Gardner-South Wilmington High School, where he excelled in wrestling. He then attended Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Ill. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served from 1973 -1975.

Surviving are one son, Jeffrey Girot of Norcross, Ga.; a grandson, Jeffrey Girot; his mother, Jean (Crater) Girot of Braidwood, Ill.; one brother, James (Judi) Girot of Braidwood; his companion of 26 years, Darlene Girot of Anchorage; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
