Fog obscured stop sign, resulted in crash

A Grand Ridge woman was taken to an area hospital following a single-vehicle accident Wednesday morning, according to the La Salle County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a department release, at about 5:30 a.m., deputies investigated an accident at the intersection of E. 2075th Road and N. 35th Road in Dayton Township. The driver of the vehicle, Lucinda C. Allen, 49, reportedly drove through an intersection and crashed into a ditch. She reported being unable to see the stop sign ahead in the heavy fog.

She was taken to OSF Saint Elizabeth Medical Center.
