Minooka man admits hitting a car in Morris

Published: Friday, Nov. 23, 2012 8:32 a.m. CST

A Minooka man reported to Morris Police Sunday morning, Nov 18, that he struck a parked car in downtown Morris the night before.

According to the Morris Police Department report, at about 10:20 a.m., Joseph F. Olson, 70, filed the report at the department for the crash, which he said occurred around midnight on Liberty Street.

He told police he left the Fraternal Order of Eagles around midnight and drove north on Liberty Street. He said about three blocks north of Eagles Hall, he side-swiped a parked vehicle.

The officer who wrote the report observed a rubber transfer on the passenger side front and rear doors of his 1999 white Cadillac Deville, as well as a scuff above the transfer and some denting.

Olson apologized for not immediately reporting the crash, and denied that he had consumed alcoholic beverages the night before, the report said.

He said the vehicle he struck may have been a pickup truck, but was uncertain.

The victim’s vehicle was not located, and no crashes were reported that matched the incident.
