Former Rep. Debbie Halvorson announces bid to replace Jackson
(MCT) — Eight months after matching up against Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. in a Democratic primary, former Rep. Debbie Halvorson has announced her candidacy to replace him in a special election.
Jackson, who won both the March primary and the general election in November, announced his resignation Wednesday after months of questions about his health and news of a federal investigation into his use of campaign funds.
