State trooper killed in I-55 crash had metro-east ties
(MCT) — LITCHFIELD — A 32-year-old Illinois State Police trooper was killed in a fatal crash Monday morning while conducting a traffic stop on Interstate 55 near Litchfield.
Trooper Kyle Deatherage was killed when he was struck by a truck-tractor semi on I-55 at milepost 62. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
