Walnut man charged with DUI following accident on Pine Bluff

Grundy County deputies arrested a Walnut man for driving under the influence after a two-vehicle crash Thursday morning on Pine Bluff Road.

According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department report, the incident took place at about 10 a.m. on Pine Bluff Road about a fourth of a mile west of School Drive. Deputies responded to a an accident reported without injuries.

Details about the crash occurred were not immediately released in the report, but the report indicated that Patrick M. Donovan, 56, of Walnut, who was driving a 2002 Ford Explorer, had struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Fred W. Prebianca, 66, of 5830 Peart Road. Donovan’s vehicle received damage to the front, while Prebianca’s vehicle had damage to the rear.

Donovan was arrested for DUI and also cited for driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol concentration over .08 percent and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

He was taken to the Grundy County jail, where he posted $300 bond and was released from custody.
