Committee will oversee extracurricular activities
Panel will include board, community, teachers, students
The Morris Community High School District 101 school board is looking to create a committee to keep track of and advise on extracurricular activities.
The board discussed creating the standing board committee at its regular meeting Monday. The creation of the committee will be guided with the help of consultants Jim Bioch and Bob Pieper of "The Team," (Together Everyone Achieves More), a consulting business for successful extracurricular programs. An agreement with the consultants was approved by the board.
"There is an incredible amount of time and money spent in extracurricular activities," said board member Dr. James Allen. "Sometimes I ask what's the purpose of things and no one knows the purpose. This is a possibility to identify those things and to know what we expect out of it."
