Patricia C. Ryan

PAYNESVILLE, Minn. — A memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville, Minn., for Patricia C. Ryan, 65 of Paynesville, who passed away at her home with family by her side on Sunday, Dec.16, 2012. The Rev. Glenn Krystosek will officiate.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, at the Daniel-Anderson Funeral Home in Paynesville, as well as for one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.

Patricia was born March 7, 1947, in Joliet, Ill., to Omer and Dorothy (Elberts) Halpin. She married William “Bill” Ryan on June 15, 1968, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in South Wilmington, Ill.

Patricia graduated from Illinois State University with a bachelor's degree in biology. She was a teacher all of her life. Patricia resigned from her many roles in July of 2012 due to her illness.

When she wasn’t teaching, she was gardening, cooking, crocheting, reading, and playing computer games. Patricia also was an active volunteer at church, the R.O.S.E. Center, the Koronis Manor, and Habitat for Humanity. She also tutored students.

Surviving are her husband, Bill; her children, Joshua (Katie), Sarah (fiancé Nathan), and Adam; grandchildren Jack and Ada; sister and brothers Carol (Bud) Schultz, Dale (Carol) Halpin, and Don (Sandra) Halpin.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Dan.

Her family wishes to extend a special thank you to all those who have given them support during Patricia’s illness.

Memorials are preferred.
