LOCKPORT, Ill. — The Gaylord Building is seeking retirees to help lead its educational activities and community outreach.

The historic site needs individuals who are willing to share their knowledge and time with others, especially youth.

Proposed activities need retirees who have experience in either education or business or a variety of building trades like carpentry, masonry, painting, electrical, plumbing and landscaping.  However, adults still in the workforce are also welcome to contribute their talents and experience to the community through the historic site’s new activities.

Interested individuals should contact the historic site by calling (815) 838.9400 or emailing info@gaylordbuilding.org.

The Gaylord Building is a site of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
