Goodwill ambassador visits Omicron
Jacobs believes local group is ‘dynamic chapter’
OTTAWA, Ill. — Omicron Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International entertained Lou Ann Jacobs, the Lambda State Ambassador of Good Will, at the Nov. 20, 2012 meeting held at Pitstick.
After dinner members sang “Hello Dolly,” Patty Hopkins accompanied Omicron sisters in a new rendition “Hello, Lou Ann.”
Chairs or their designee reported to Lou Ann concerning the highlights of activities planned for this biennium. Jacobs responded to the reports. She sees Omicron as a dynamic chapter.
Jacobs applauded Omicron’s many projects and support for each other. She also noted Omicron’s scrapbooks because they highlight chapter activities and also members’ interests outside of Omicron. She complimented the newsletter and the website.
Lou Ann will help the program chair set up CPDU’s for programs.
The business meeting followed. Two items motions from the executive board meeting were discussed and passed. Grants were raised from $800 to $1,000. Incentives for members who are still teaching were established.
Three teachers would receive $200 dollars each for use in their classrooms. A report would be given in May when other grant winners would be presented.
Patty Hopkins presented details of the NCICC summer activity. On June 26, 2013 three Delta Kappa Gamma chapters will take a boat ride on the I & M Canal.
The next meeting of Omicron will be pajama book party at Pitstick on Feb. 19, 2013.
