On Dec. 23, 2012, our dearly beloved husband, father and friend, Harold F. Tulley, 84, went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ.
Born March 24, 1928, in Wilton Township, Harold was a son of the late Edmund and Florence (Scott) Tulley. He honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean War from October 1951 through July 1953, as a corporal in the 25th infantry/tank commander.
Harold lived and farmed his entire life in The Twelve Mile Grove Area and worked for H.P. Graham Road Construction.
He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Stone City VFW Post 2199 and the Kankakee Moose Lodge.
Harold was proud of his Irish heritage and cherished the friendships he made throughout his lifetime.
Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Loretta M. (Doyle) Tulley; his loving devoted children, Colleen (Brad) Dralle of Beaufort, S.C., Karen Bettenhausen of Peotone, Ill., Robert Tulley of Odell, Ill., Cathleen (David) Schaeffer, of Manteno, Ill., Rita (David) Beata of Western Springs; grandchildren, Kelly (Andrew) Necker, Brian (Jocelyn) Dralle, Erin (Nick) Ragle, Maureen (Jordan) Broggi, Kurt (Camila) Dralle, Caitlin and Megan Schaeffer, Cheyenne Tulley and Connor Beata; 12 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Donald (Joan) Tulley of Wilmington Ill.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Edmund and Florence (Scott) Tulley; one son, Patrick Tulley; two brothers, Joe and Stephen; and sister, Helen Koller.
Visitation and video tribute will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at Freitag-Reeves & Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road, in Wilmington.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Wilton Center. Burial with full military honors will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, Ill.
Pallbearers will be Don Nugent, Daniel Delaney, Gerald Delaney, Rick Rodawold, Brad Dralle, David Schaeffer and David Beata.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Harold's memory to St. Patrick Catholic Church in Wilton Center, Joliet Area Community Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
