GARDNER — Mr. Harold Severson, 97, of Gardner, passed away Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at Heritage Health in Dwight, Ill.

Born Jan. 11, 1915, in Garfield Township, Harold was a son of the late Severt and Sarah (Ostrem) Severson. On Sept. 7, 1940, Harold married Mary Ethel Spradlin in Prairie Lutheran Church, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 2, 2009.

Harold was born, lived and farmed in Garfield Township for 94 years, and moved from the country into Gardner in 1977. He was a member of United Lutheran Church in Gardner, where he taught Sunday school for several years and also served as trustee.
