Kettle Drive shatters mark by $3,300

This year’s total of money donated to the Grundy County Salvation Army Red Kettle Drive has topped last year’s breakthrough record by another $3,300, according to We Care of Grundy County.

Although the final tally is not complete yet, the ringing, which took place at Jewel and Wal-Mart from Friday, Nov. 23,  through Sunday, Dec. 23, is done. During that time, bell ringers collected a total of at least $30,071, which is up 12 percent over last year’s total of $26,700.
