Edward A. Kussler

LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill. — Mr. Edward A. Kussler, 88, Lincolnshire, Ill., passed away peacefully Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at Radford Green Health Care Center in Lincolnshire.

Born Dec. 10, 1924, in Morris, Edward was the son of August and Marie (Rumpf) Kussler. He received his education in Morris and graduated from Morris High School in 1942. He received bachelor's degree in engineering from Purdue University, Lafayette, Ind., and earned an MBA from Roosevelt University, Chicago.

Edward married the love of his life, Mary Jo Weimer, on Aug. 9, 1944, in Pueblo, Colo. He then served as a Second Lieutenant in the in the Army Air Corps in World War II. He was part of 767th Bomb Squadron 461st Bomb Group 15th Air Force Mediterranean Theatre. His plane was shot down, was a prisoner of war and missing in action for more than four months.
