David R. Fairall

Mr. David R. "Dave" Fairall, 65, of rural Morris, passed away unexpectedly early Friday morning, Dec. 28, 2012, at his home.

Born Feb. 1, 1947, in Streator, Ill., David was the Son of Arlie and Agnes (Cotter) Defenbaugh. Dave married Linda D. McArdle on Oct. 12, 2002.

He was employed as truck mechanic with Alumax Aluminum in Aux Sable Township for many years until its closing. He then entered the employment of Hintzsche Trucking in Plainfield, Ill., then Bernie Frieders Trucking in Sandwich, Ill. He retired in January 2012 from M.D. Miller Trucking in Shorewood, Ill.

He was a fan and follower of NHRA Drag Racing and NASCAR. He loved his rock and roll and the feeling of the wind in his hair on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

He was a member of Teamsters Local #179 in Joliet, Ill. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #967 in Morris.

Survivors include his loving wife of more than 10 years, Linda; their three children, Doug Fairall and his wife, Lea Ann, of Pittsburgh, Pa., Dawn Ginestra of Austin, Texas, and Eric Fairall and his wife, Sarah McArdle, of St. Louis, Mo.; two sisters, Marilyn McCann and her husband, Larry, of Ransom, Ill., and Barb Schmitt of Streator, Ill.; his in-laws, Robert and Blanche Cinotto of Morris; brother-in-law, Jim and his wife, Mary Cinotto; sister-in-law, Char Carter; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Donna Richards Fairall, who died on Feb. 1, 2002.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, at U.C. Davis & Sons Funeral Home Ltd., 301 W. Washington St., Morris.

Per his directions, cremation rites will follow at the Schultz Crematory in Streator, Ill.

Preferred form of remembrance would be memorial gifts directed to the family for distribution to local charities of their choosing at a later date.
