Grundy Dems recommend Callahan for sheriff

Chief Deputy has served Grundy County for 29 years

By a unanimous vote of the committeemen, the Grundy County Democratic Central Committee voted Thursday to recommend that Kevin Callahan be appointed to the position of Grundy County Sheriff.

The Grundy County Democratic Central Committee met Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, in regards to recommending someone to be appointed by the Grundy County Board to complete the term of the office of sheriff due to the passing of Sheriff Terry Marketti.

Callahan has served Grundy County with the Sheriff’s Department for more than 29 years. Callahan has been promoted to several different positions at the department until he was named chief deputy by Sheriff Terry Marketti in 2004.
