DWIGHT, Ill. — Mr. Robert A. "Bob" Williams, 76, of rural Dwight, Ill., passed away unexpectedly Thursday afternoon, Dec. 27, 2012, at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, Ill., with his loving family at his bedside.

Born Sept. 25, 1936 in Morris, Robert was the son of Azel and Ardith Ely Williams. He received his education in the Hamilton and Goodfarm consolidated elementary schools and graduated from Mazon High School with the class of 1954.

Bob married the love of his life, Ann L. Lee, on Aug. 13, 1955, at the Park Street Congregation Church in Mazon. Together, with his wife they farmed for more than 57 years in Goodfarm Township, where he resided all of his life.

He served on he Goodfarm School Board of Education and was a member and served as president of the M-V-K School Board of Education. For 18 years, he served as the road commissioner in Goodfarm Township. He was a member and served on the church board of the Park Street Congregational Church. He was also a member of Mazon Lodge #826 A.F. & A.M.

He enjoyed showing and participating in the Heritage Tractor Adventure with his John Deere M tractor and spending time visiting with his many friends and family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his loving wife of more than 57 years, Ann; their five children, Terrie and her husband, Dan Zilm, of Hennepin, Ill., Jacqueline and her husband, Trent Sparrow, of rural Mazon, Greg and his wife, Sandi Williams, of rural Mazon, Todd and his wife, Lynne Williams, of Marietta, Ga., and Karen and her husband, Steven Jara, of Parker, Colo.; 14 grandchildren, Craig Zilm, Amanda Carr, Heather Zilm Boecker, Benjamin, Bartholomew and Brigham Schwinn, Nicole Mack, Chad Williams, Emily, Trevor and Mollie Williams, Matthew, Lisa and Kayla Jara; 12 great-grandchildren and one on the way; his dog, Snoop; one brother, Dennis Williams of Newark, Del.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded by his parents, and two brothers, Jim and Dale Williams.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at U.C. Davis & Sons Funeral Home Ltd., 301 W. Washington St., Morris.
