Despite bad ankle, Bears’ Forte has productive day

(MCT) — DETROIT — On a bad right ankle Matt Forte got his biggest workload of the season Sunday, carrying 24 times for 103 yards as the Bears tapped into a running game that sometimes has been missing.

It was the third 100-yard game this season for Forte, who finished with 1,094 yards, his third 1,000-yard season. He scored on a 1-yard run in the second quarter as the Bears opened a 20-10 halftime lead, and he helped seal the game with a powerful 13-yard run with 2:38 remaining as he dragged defensive end Cliff Avril to pick up a first down and allow the Bears to run out the clock.
