MAZON, Ill. — Mrs. Beverly J. Houchin, 77, of Mazon, Ill., passed away Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Morris Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at Osborne-Nelson Funeral Home in Seneca, with the Rev. Tyler Carrell officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, at the funeral home. She will be buried in Oakwood Memorial Park in Ottawa.

Beverly was born Dec. 11, 1935, in Des Moines, Iowa, to William and Judith (Tungland) Pearson. She was a 1954 graduate from Ottawa High School. She worked at several area newspapers and covered the Grundy County Fair as a writer.
