WILMINGTON, Ill. — Ms. Barbara Anne Nugent, 84 of Wilmington, Ill., passed away Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home.

Born Sept. 17, 1928, in Lockport, Ill., Barbara was a daughter of the late James H. and Barbara Howard Nugent. She was a graduate of Wilmington High School and Joliet Junior College. Barbara then continued her education, graduating from both College of Saint Francis and Northern Illinois University, where she earned several degrees in teaching.

She spent 50 years teaching at Wilton Center Grade School and Saint Rose School in Wilmington. Barbara also tutored many children from her home.
