COLLEGE: Five local students earn SIUE degrees

Commencement featured nearly 1,000 graduates

The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville campus sent nearly 1,000 graduates into the world when commencement exercises took place Saturday, Dec. 15. The exercises marked the first SIUE commencement for Chancellor Julie Furst-Bowe, who took the helm as the University’s 8th chancellor this past summer.

“It is always an honor to send the next generation of teachers, practitioners, scholars and professionals out into the world,” Furst-Bowe said.
