In February, it will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb, 7 and 21, with a half-price sale offered Feb. 21. It will also be open from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11 and Feb. 25, with half-price items offered Feb. 25.

The store will be closed March 7 for antique fair set up, but open from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 11, for a 25-cent sale.

Ten-cent sales are planned from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 21, and from 6 to 8 p.m. March 25.

Soup Supper set at Braceville UMC

BRACEVILLE, Ill. — Why not go out for supper on Saturday, Jan. 19, as the Braceville United Methodist Church hosts its seventh annual Soup Supper.

Delicious soups, along with all the trimmings, desserts and beverages will be served from 4 to 6 p.m. The cost for adults is $6; children ages 3 to 12, $3; and children under 3 eat for free.

Carry outs are available and all proceeds go to Vacation Bible School 2013.

Also taking place, starting at 6 p.m., is the church’s talent show.  Let your light shine as you perform your hidden talents before a friendly and welcoming audience. To book your acts, please call the church at (815) 237-8512.

The church is located at 106 W. Gould in Braceville.

Helmar Lutheran will serve Kumla

Helmar Lutheran Church is having an all-you-can-eat Kumla Dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19.

The proceeds are to support the HLC Community Food Pantry, which has grown from serving 10 to 120, twice a month, in its five years of operation.

The dinner includes ham, Kumla (like a dumpling), applesauce, dessert and beverage.  For those who would prefer, a baked potato will be substituted for Kumla.

The church is located at 11935 Lisbon Road, in rural Newark. Carry-outs will be available.

This is a free-will donation dinner with asuggested donation of $10 for adults and $4 for kids.  Please help support this fundraiser andthereby helping your neighbor’s in need. 

Women at our BEST bring ‘Winter Warmth’

OGLESBY — On Monday, Jan. 21, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., a local Christian women’s group, Women at our BEST, will be presenting “Winter Warmth.”
