George A. Knott

Mr. George A. Knott, 72, of Morris, passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon, Jan. 19, 2013, at Morris Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center with his loving family by his side.

Born Feb. 22, 1940, in Ottawa, Ill., George is the son of Joseph and Marie (Gage) Knott. He was educated in the schools of Ottawa, Ill.

With his father, Joe, and the family, they managed the Saratoga Truck Stop in Morris. He then traveled to Texas and was employed as an iron worker for several years. He returned to Morris, where he found employment for more than 20 years with P. T. Ferro Construction Company, retiring in 2002. He then returned to the Phillips 66 filling station on Illinois 47 in Morris.
