Slammers sign former second round MLB pick

JOLIET – The Joliet Slammers announced Thursday the signing of RHP Seth Lintz, a former second round draft pick of the Milwaukee Brewers.

“I am excited to see what Seth brings to the table this spring,” manager Mike Breyman said. “For whatever reason, his first opportunity fell through, but this league sometimes wakes people up and gets them back to where they want to be. In Seth's case, that means back on the road to higher levels of affiliated baseball.”

The 22-year-old already has five seasons of affiliated baseball experience, most recently with the Single-A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers of the Midwest League in 2011 and 2012. The Tennessee native has struck out 121 batters in 130.1 innings over the course of his career. Lintz has appeared in 59 games, while starting 12. The Brewers made Lintz their second round draft pick in 2008 out of Marshall County High School in Lewisburg, Tennessee.
