Children’s Theater to raise funds for Assaf, Pavelka families
MINOOKA — Minooka Community High School is presenting on Tuesday, Feb. 5, its children’s play, “The Quest: A Fairy Tale with Attitude.”
Grandma is sick and all the students at Fantasy Academy embark on a quest for the ingredients to make a potion that will cure Grandma. Along the way, Huff ’n’ Puff, the big bad wolf of the play, tries to stop the kids before the students can cure Grandma. The show is directed by Julie King and two student directors.
Every year, Minooka High School students perform a play for local elementary children. For the second time, they are performing their play for the public.
Last year, their production of The Wizard of Oz raised just under $1,000 for Children’s Memorial Hospital. This year, they are raising money for the Assaf and Pavelka families.
The doors open at 5:30 p.m. with curtains opening at 6 p.m. Ticket prices are donation based, a minimum of $1 per person. Run time is approximately 60 minutes.
After the show, audience members can meet any cast member.
