Verona man sentenced for leaving the scene

A Verona man was placed on court supervision for two years and was fined $1,100 for leaving the scene of a property vehicle accident.

Maxwell D. Phillips, 21, of 5615 Gardner Road, was sentenced Tuesday, Jan. 29, in Grundy County Circuit Court. He was charged June 28, 2012, by Morris police in the wake of the accident.

The terms of his sentence require him to obtain an alcohol evaluation.
