MINOOKA, Ill. — Mrs. Beverly J. (Sanders) Van Asdlen, 80, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home.

Born Sept. 26, 1932, the daughter of the late John and Margaret Sanders, Beverly grew up living in Crest Hill. In 1957, she married the late Richard Van Asdlen. Shortly after marriage, they moved to Minooka, Ill., where she has since been a resident.

The dearly loved mother of Richard "Rick" (Brenda) Van Asdlen and William "Bill" (Ronalee) Van Asdlen, she was also the proud grandmother of Jessica (Mark) Smith, and Jonathan, Brett, Brooke, Brock and Brad Van Asdlen; and the dear great-grandmother of Cora Rae Smith. Beverly was also the beloved sister of Shirley Hartley and Darlene (Kenny) Rybinski. Also left to cherish her memory are numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a sister, Kathy (Richard)
Winn; her father- and mother-in-law, William and Mildred Van Asdlen; brothers-in-law Jim Hartley, Robert Van Asdlen, Donald "Ozzie" Van Asdlen, Buck Arnold, Charles Brown and Clyde Heap; and sisters-in-law Bette Arnold, Helen Brown and Jane Heap.

Beverly spent most of her working career at Jemco Engineering in Minooka.

She cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter more than life itself. She was her grandchildren's #1 fan.  She was at all of the events and activities that they were participants in.

She also enjoyed playing Bunco and spending time with her "Lunch Bunch"
friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her physicians – Dr. Gus Pedraza, Dr. Jason Suh, and Dr. John Walsh – and also recognize the truly exceptional nurses at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center and the Joliet Area Community Hospice.

Funeral Service for Beverly J. Van Asdlen will be at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at The Maple Funeral Home, 24300 W. Ford Road, Channahon, to St. Mary's Catholic Church, Minooka, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Aux Sable Cemetery, Minooka.

Visitation will be from 2 t0 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at the funeral home.
