WALNUT, Ill. — Mr. John Robert Pogliano Jr., 66, of Walnut, Ill., passed away peacefully Saturday, Feb.9, 2013, at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous and hard-fought battle with gallbladder cancer.

Born Dec. 30, 1946, in Morris, Ill., John was the son of John Sr. and Darlene (Perry) Pogliano. He attended Coal City High School, graduating with the class of 1965. He married Lana (Watson) Pogliano on May 10, 1969, at Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City.

In 1972, John moved to the Walnut area. He was a life-long farmer and owner-operator of his beloved 1975 Peterbilt, working part time for Northwest Illinois Construction Company.
