Getting chance to see roller derby in the City for the first time was a real treat

So, I got the chance to see my very first roller derby bout live on Saturday night. The Windy City Rollers were kind enough to let me and my friend Alaine in to see the season opener which was held up at the UIC Pavillion.

It has been nearly a year now that I had considered going to see what this whole roller derby thing was all about. Of course about a year and a half ago, I did a story on Morris' very own Molly Fannin, otherwise know in Derby parlance as Bork Bork Bork. She is actually doing quite well these days and on Saturday she was announced as making the All-Star traveling team again this season. This in addition to being a captain of the Manic Attackers during the regular season.

"We've been one of the 10 ten teams in the nation for years," Bork's fellow captain Ruth Enasia said of the travel team. "At least since 2008, we've been quite competitive."
