(MCT) — A 35-year-old Plainfield man is being held in the Will County Jail on $1 million bond after he was charged with trying to meet with a 12-year-old Naperville girl for sex, police said.

Bryan E. Woldman, of the 7000 block of Clearwater Drive, was arrested Friday and charged with indecent solicitation of a minor, traveling to meet a minor for a sexual encounter and grooming, according to Naperville police.

Officers from the Naperville Police Department's high technology crimes unit began investigating Woldman in December after the girl's mother discovered that her daughter and Woldman had allegedly been communicating by cellphone, text messages, Facebook and Skype, police said.

Over the next few weeks, Woldman allegedly exchanged sexually explicit text messages with officers he thought were the 12-year-old girl, police said.

On Friday night, Woldman drove to the AMC Showplace theater in Naperville, "where he thought he was meeting the 12-year-old victim for a sexual encounter," according to a police news release.

Instead, Woldman was met by Naperville police officers, who arrested him without incident, according to the department.

Naperville police asked that anyone with information about similar activities involving Woldman call the department at 630-420-6666.
