Man sentenced to conditional discharge for revoked license
A Chicago man was placed on conditional discharge for 30 months after being convicted of driving while his license was revoked.
Jermel Brown, 36, was sentenced Jan. 30 in Grundy County Circuit Court for the Class 4 felony. Brown was arrested at 3:36 a.m. June 12 by Minooka police while driving a green 1998 Nissan on Ottawa Drive at Grainger Way.
According to court documents, he was driving when his driver’s license was revoked on prior occassions, including July 24, 1999 in Cook County, April 29, 2005 in Cook County, June 20, 2005 in Cook County, July 31, 2005 in Cook County and March 23, 2006 in Cook County. The current revocation is for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Brown’s conditional discharge will expire July 29, 2015. His sentenced also required him to serve 127 days in jail, with credit for 127 days served. He was fined $215 and ordered to pay $250 for the DNA analysis fee.
Additional charges of driving on a revoked driver’s license and operating an uninsured vehicle were dismissed.
