Trivial Pursuit

With eyes on Nashville, Morris High Choir hosts Feb. 24 fundraiser

For the first time in several years, the Morris Community High School Choral Program students will be taking a choir trip, so a Trivia Night is being held to help students with the cost.

The students are visiting the country music capital of the U.S., Nashville, Tenn., from March 24 to 27. About 38 students are planning to attend and the students have been fundraising throughout the year to assist with the cost of going, which is about $630 a student, said Alyssa Napolitano, director of choirs.

The last fundraiser before the trip will be a Trivia Night at 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, in the Morris High main gym. Teams of six, ages 14 and up, are invited to play. It's $10 a player.

What is your stance on a proposed 1 percent sales tax to fund local school building projects?

I'm in favor of anything that will help improve school finances
I will support it if it helps to lower my property taxes
I oppose it because I don't believe it will impact property taxes and I will just pay twice
I'm against any additional taxes
I have not heard enough yet to form an opinion
