“Sandy has been doing a lot of the work (since the previous county administrator left) and we feel we need to reward her for that,” Geiger said.

Previous County Administrator Shawn Hamilton left for another position. A full-time county administrator position was posted last fall, but that process began before the new board members were seated. With the new members in place, a search was started again, but for a part-time administrator.

The job description was re-posted and Geiger asked the committee to review the candidates in preparation for discussion at the special meeting.

The Board Secretary was awarded the 1st year she "covered" the admin duties by driving to and from work in the taxpayer funded admin vehicle. How many other secretaries in the county got the taxpayers to pay for their gas too and from work for 3 months during the summer when gas was over $4 per gallon? Or when they went to lunch every day? I wonder if the committee factored that into her bonus? Probably not.

What is your stance on a proposed 1 percent sales tax to fund local school building projects?

I'm in favor of anything that will help improve school finances
I will support it if it helps to lower my property taxes
I oppose it because I don't believe it will impact property taxes and I will just pay twice
I'm against any additional taxes
I have not heard enough yet to form an opinion
